Winter on the Schmittenhöhe brings entirely new perspectives. Mountains with first class slopes, some leading directly down to the valley - with altitude differences of more than 1000 metres - fascinate alpine skiing fans of all ages and all abilities. Also, winter hikers are encouraged to leave their footsteps in the snow.Perfect snow conditions are guaranteed from spring until autumn on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area (800 - 3029 m). The all-year-round skiing area 'Europa Sportregion' features 130 km of perfectly prepared pistes, 60 lifts, 321 regional cross-country skiing tracks (including 6 in high regions).There are also many other activities available, such as swimming, ice skating, ice hockey, sleigh rides, tennis, squash, ice surfing, Nordic skiing and much more.
