The Manueline style, is an architectural and decorative style, examples of which can be found in various historic building, is simply unmistakably unique and lovely. After the Moors were expelled from the county, some of the most spectacular cathedrals were built with influences from the romantic and gothic styles. The churches and cloisters are counted, even today, as some of the buildings most worth seeing in Portugal. Exceptional examples of the Portuguese construction art are the monestary in Belém, the cathedral “Sé” in Lisbon, the palace of justice in Lisbon, the Templar church in Tomar, the Batalha Monestary “Santa Maria da Vitória na Batalha”, and the Braga cathedral. One other section of Portuguese culture to point out, which know world wide, is the traditional Portuguese folkloric music and costumes. |
